(trendingpoliticsnews) – In a highly charged and contentious weaponization hearing on Thursday, tensions reached a boiling point as Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) talked over Jim Jordan while disregarding the legitimacy of whistleblowers. Things got heated when Rep. Schultz shamelessly declared that the witnesses testifying at the hearing were not whistleblowers, despite their claims and the agency’s determination.
While calling out Schultz’s attempt to withhold vital information from the minority, Rep. Jordan passionately asserted, “When it comes to whistleblowers, you are not entitled to it. That’s a discretion of Mr. Allen.” He further emphasized, “It’s shocking that the gentleman from New York would state that when you were part of the investigation with an anonymous whistleblower. We have given you all of the information we had.”
Rep. Jordan’s words struck a chord, exposing the hypocrisy of Rep. Wasserman Schultz’s selective memory regarding whistleblowers.
Jordan was dismayed by the partisan attempt to diminish the significance of whistleblowers in the hearing. However, he continued to challenge her stance, asking, “Did you not listen to Mr. Leavitt’s testimony? Did you not read the law? The law decides that they are whistleblowers.”
The subcommittee hearing has produced a number of newsworthy moments and given Americans a unique view into the weaponization of the bureau.
One whistleblower described the harrowing experience he and his family went through. The decorated FBI agent, Garret O’Boyle, said the bureau left his family homeless.
Another video from the hearing shows purple-haired Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-CA) questioning Special Agent Marcus Allen on tweets from an account that is clearly not his.
